Collins, Max Allan: "Die
Mumie", Munich 1999.
This is the German translation of the novel by Max A.Collins. It
is somewhat like the first conception of the films, so it is
clearly exciting. Some things have been altered in the film.
Ardeth is a little bit harder than in the film. Evy is the
daughter of Lord Carnahan who was the sponsor of Carter who found
the tomb of Tut Anck Amun in 1922. If you want to read the true
Mummy conception, read this book!

The story is told by Alex, so it is easy to read. There are some
very nice fotos from the film, also information on Egypt and
other things relevant to the film.

Nancy Taylor. The book was published in the series "Penguin
Readers", it is leveled "Elementary" with
approximately 600 words. The story is nearly the same as in the
film but there are differences, for example, the falcon Horus is
not in it. After the story there are questions regarding the
story.

of the Scorpion King" (The Mummy Chronicles I). 2001.
The author has written four novels "The Mummy
Chronicles" for young readers, featuring young Alex
O'Connell who goes through some adventures in Egypt. They are
easily to read, have approximately 135 pages and some information
on old Egypt at the end.

of the Pharaoh" (The Mummy Chronicles II). 2001.
Novel no. 2 on Alex' adventures in Egypt. This time he and his
friends Rachel and Matt are defending the tomb and treasure of
Cleoptra and Marc Anton against the Nazi-German Ungricht and the
collaborating Italians. They are helped by Irani, once servant to
Cleopatra, but now acting as a shadow - showing Alex and his
company the right way. No Ardeth in this novel, but Alex acts
according to the Medjai order because he wishes to be a Medjai.
Wolverton, Dave: "The
Curse of the Nile" (The Mummy Chronicles III). 2001.
Novel no. 3. Alex is on tour on the Nile in Egypt together with
his parents and Ardeth Bay. He is thrown overboard by some bad
people - and there he discovers an old temple, moreover, he finds
the old Osiris-amulet which grants him 3 wishes. He doesn't know
about that and wonders why he could escape the crocodiles in the
river. When he has savely arrived onboard again, he doesn't tell
his friend Ardeth Bay of the amulet. He doesn't want to give it
away and he is sorry about lying to Ardeth - but the amulet is
changing dangerously his mind.

of the Phoenix" (The Mummy Chronicles IV). 2001.
This book is based on the film "The Mummy Returns".
Young Alex O'Connor is in Egypt and wishes to be a Medjai. So the
Medjai will prove him: He should bring them the egg of the last
phoenix bird. Ardeth is in the novel. The book is written for
joung people, 9 - 12 years, so it is simple to read. It is the
forth book in the sequel of The Mummy Chronicles, 120 pages, few
information on Egypt.
